…How can I explain?
I grew up in a house filled with too many other siblings. A house where people’s clutter just accumulated everywhere. As a result, I longed for a quiet, organised home life. One where the surfaces were clear, where everything was put away out of sight. And one where, when you opened the kitchen cupboards; you weren’t in danger of death by toppling tin cans. I wanted a life where my tins were lined up perfectly, with all the labels straightened up.
But, do you know what happened when I grew up?
Yes, I hit the big time and bought bagged salads. I even had everything clean, tidy and uncluttered for a time. And then kids came along. With their cute smiles and pudgy fingers. And their clutter and demands on my time. As a result, I ended up doing what I swore I’d never do. Yes, you know what’s coming. In order to save time, I’d race home with the groceries, open the cupboards and just fire my shopping in, willy-nilly. And thus, my longed-for quiet, organised home life disappeared with a bang, and a crash. A crash of disordered tinned food.
And that, my friends, was when I had my Eureka moment. When I realised….
