Nestled in the heart of the historic Old Quarter in Stourbridge, Victoria and Karl Baraks’ period home deserved a kitchen that matched its timeless charm. When they approached us with their vision for a traditional yet functional space, we knew this project would be something special.
Victoria and Karl chose the colour palette to complement the character of the home. This featured light grey cabinetry with a stunning slate blue feature island. The in-frame design, combined with quartz worktops, framed end panels, and a skirting plinth, adds layers of depth and sophistication.
Our latest traditional kitchen in the Old Quarter
A particular highlight is the feature island, which provides both practicality and a focal point for family gatherings. Its brass Banbury bar handles and knobs add warmth, tying beautifully with the antique brass bridge mixer taps and double Belfast sink.

In-keeping with the home’s heritage:
the original fireplace has been lovingly preserved as part of the design, maintaining a sense of authenticity. A classic range cooker takes pride of place, further enhancing the traditional aesthetic.
To bring everything together, herringbone flooring lends texture and elegance, seamlessly blending modern functionality with period detail.
This Old Quarter kitchen isn’t just a cooking space; it’s a celebration of craftsmanship and thoughtful design, perfectly tailored to its setting. For Victoria and Karl, it’s not just a kitchen; it’s the heart of their home, reimagined.
