Design spotlight: A classic In-frame kitchen in Penn
For Tina and Suhail Ali in Penn, this project was all about blending timeless craftsmanship with a touch of drama. The result? A beautifully tailored in-frame kitchen with traditional butt hinges, reimagined for modern family living.
Bold, modern character
Traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary twist
By removing the back wall and extending into the patio space, we created a generous kitchen-diner that now centres around a statement island. The true heart of the home. Painted in Little Greene’s Portland 77 and Benjamin Moore’s Black HC-190, the palette perfectly balances warmth and depth, complemented by brass knurled handles that bring a subtle luxe edge to this In-frame design.
Materials that elevate the everyday
The Ocean Wave satin matte worktops feature an elegant Ogee bevel, while practical touches like pull-out wooden trays, vegetable baskets, and a bi-fold pantry keep all the day-to-day essentials beautifully hidden. A fluted Shaws Belfast sink and Ilve black range cooker ground the look in classic style, with soft under-unit and mantle lighting setting the mood perfectly.
This In-frame kitchen design proves that classic doesn’t have to mean old-fashioned. It’s a bold, handcrafted statement from The Gallery, designed for modern living on the leafy outskirts of Wolverhampton.
It’s all in the craftsmanship:

Ultimately, this is where the materials, textures, and craftsmanship truly shine. Every joint, hinge, and handle reflecting that blend of timeless build and contemporary finish.
